Has the Car Shortage Finished?
For the past couple of years, car manufacturers around the globe have faced extensive staff shortages due to the pandemic. These shortages led to some factories closing down part time, and some shutting their doors permanently.
Now that the pandemic is becoming less of a concern in day-to-day life, we are seeing some car manufacturers get back to pre-pandemic levels of production. Here, Denlo Volkswagen Parramatta discusses whether the car shortage has finished, and what to expect in the next few years when it comes to car stock in Australian dealerships.
Dealerships and Car Stock
It was recently reported that some car manufacturing factories in the United States are still at production levels as low as the financial crisis of the late 2000s. This trend is becoming less common internationally. Germany’s car factories are back to three shifts per day, with staff levels close to pre-pandemic times. These increased production levels will see car stock in dealerships improve in the coming months and years.
New Cars in High Demand
After a couple of years of very low car stocks in dealerships, consumers are now choosing to buy a pre-order car, so they don’t have to wait when new cars arrive in our showrooms. It is for this reason that Denlo Volkswagen Parramatta recommend you get in contact with us, or your local Volkswagen dealer, and organise your new vehicle before the new cars hit our floors.
Where is Volkswagen at?
New Volkswagen models are in production, with popular models such as the Amarok and the Golf R receiving facelifts and improvements for the new model release. In a May press release, Volkswagen announced that it had found a way around its parts shortage and that production should be back to normal by the end of this year. If all things go as planned, we should be seeing new Volkswagen models, such as the Amarok and the Golf R, be readily available in dealerships around the world, and of course, right here at Denlo Volkswagen Parramatta.
